Surveys undertaken by the consultants include:

  • Protected species surveys - otter, badger, bat survey, freshwater pearl mussel (licenced), reptile, water vole, GCN
  • Controled Activities Regulation licence application 
  • National Vegetation Classification surveys of open ground or woodland habitats
  • Phase 1 surveys
  • Riparian corridor surveys
  • Herbivore impact surveys
  • Plot-based tree surveys to BS 5837:2005 
  • Alien plant surveys
  • Pre-development Environmental Risk Assessment
  • Planning condition compliance survey and assessment

We have carried out monitoring of the following:

  • Woodland regeneration (including both tree / scrub development and field layer growth and change)
  • Invertebrate populations
  • Scarce and rare plants on designated sites  
  • Post-construction vegetation re-establishment on upland developments
  • Water quality on upland developments
  • Upland habitat condition surveys

Survey information will be:

  • Collated, analysed and interpreted promptly
  • Presented in a readily usable format
  • and put into local, regional and national contexts 

This allows the client to prioritise objectives,  plan activities and where required develop mitigation to minimise the potential impact of any development.
